JunWu had the privilege of attending a the Taichi Fitness Dragon Inauguration Event hosted by Master Zheng Shun Li. Master Zheng introduced a fresh twist to the traditional arts of taichi through a fusion with long dragon ribbon. The fusion is designed to enhance agility across all age groups and is available at three levels of practice, with Joy (喜悦) being the first level, where one exercise the dragon to bring out the joy within.
行云流水: Other than waving the dragon ribbon like drifting clouds and flowing water, we found ourselves in the clouds, perspiring like flowing water. It is a simple exercise that can enhance agility and facilitates grasping the principles of taichi movement. 行云流水,绵绵不绝; continuous and uninterrupted movement of moving clouds and flowing water. Just as the dragon is always in motion, our Taichi move is constantly flowing and adapting.
Taichi is life and Life is Taichi; within the movements of Taichi we find a mirror reflecting how we navigate complexities of life.
Where or which aspect of your daily routine might you benefit from Taichi approach of balance, adaptability and harmony?
For us at Junwu, it is exploring personal growth and self-discovery with an open heart. We are looking forward to a collaboration with Master Zheng to train together and prepare for a remarkable New Year Performance of Taichi and Taichi Fitness Dragon in 2024. We are looking forward to deepening flow not only in our personal taichi practice but also in personal relationships and connections.
